Q. PUA 관련 질문드립니다.

안녕하세요.

파트타임으로 일을 하다가, 일터가 코로나로 인해 한달 정도 문을 닫아 PUA를 받고 있습니다.

고용주가 오픈을 한다고 복귀를 하라는 노티스를 받았는데요.

1. 불안감 때문에, 복귀보다는 PUA를 유지하고 싶은 마음이 큰데 복귀를 거부하면 혜택이 중단되는지 알고 싶습니다.

2. 일을 다시 시작하면 혜택 또한 받을 수 없나요?

3. 복귀를 원하지 않는다면 Certify question의 refuse to work란에 YES를 하면 되나요?

“to continue receiving benefits, workers will need to certify that they did
not refuse any offer of work.”

Did you refuse any work? 에 Yes 의 경우 (직장복귀요구에 거부할경우) benefits 이 중단 될 수 가 있으며. . .

self-quarantine recommendation 집콕이 요구되는 의사 진단서medical documentation가 있을 경우는 베네핏 수령 여부를 어필을 할 수 있으며. . .

“Even if you do receive unemployment benefits, if the Labor Department later determines a mistake was made, you will be responsible for repaying the money even if the error was not yours.”

“If you commit fraud, you may face criminal prosecution and imprisonment; incur severe fines and penalties; your state or federal income tax refunds may be garnished to satisfy any money owed;

you can be denied unemployment benefits in the future, and; you must repay the benefits you received plus interest and penalties.”
