Q. EAD 발급 후 SSN

안녕하세요.

저는 현재 F1비자로 EAD를 발급 받은 유학생입니다. EAD 카드를 발급받고 7-10일 이내로 Social Security Card를 받기로 할 수 있게 I-765 form 작성했을 때 체크를 해놓았습니다. 하지만 기다려도 오지 않아 제 주변 SSA office를 찾아가서 발급받으려고 하였으나 제가 일의 시작일이 8월 8일부터라 발급을 받을 수 없다고 하네요.

제가 알기로는 날짜 상관없이 Social Security Card를 EAD가 발급되면 받을 수 있는 것으로 알고있었는데 아니었을까요? (저는 Social Security Number를 발급받는 자체가 처음입니다.)

그렇다면 8/8 이후 SSA에서 자동으로 저의 Social Security Card를 발급해줄까요? 카드보다 number이 급하면 8/8이후 SSA에 전화를 하면 저의 social security number를 알려줄까요?

"If you apply for an SSN card using Form I-765,
you do not have to contact a Social Security office to apply for an SSN card.

If USCIS approves your application, you will receive two documents
- your Employment Authorization Document (EAD), also known as the "USCIS I-765 card" or "work permit", and in another envelope your SSN card.

We (SSA) will mail your SSN card to the address you listed on your I-765 application.
You should receive your SSN card no later than seven business days after you receive your EAD from USCIS."
