Q. 영주권 신청시 Birth Certificate 관련

안녕하세요

영주권을 신청시 Birth Certificate을

한국에서 기본증명서와, 가족관계증명서를 발급받아

한글 증명서 원본과 영어로 번역후 Notary를 받아 원본을

같이 제출하였슴에도 불구하고 아래와 같이 다시 제출하라는

RFE를 받았습니다 물론 번역은 애들이 했고 공증은 은행에서 받았습니다

왜 이런일이 일어나는지 궁금합니다

어떻게 해야 할까요?

제가 아는 다른 분도 저와 똑같은 RFE를 받았다고 합니다(물론 한국에서

원본을 발급받아 ...번역후 공증을 받아서 보냈다고 합니다)

1. 공증 받으신 것이 문제가 될 수 있습니다. 원래 번역 서류는 인증(certificate of translation)이 필요하며 공증은 요구되지 않습니다. 인증 요구조건에 맞추어 번역하신 분이, 그 내용이 사실과 일치하며 번역한 사람이 번역할 능력이 된다는 사실을 인증해 주셔야 합니다.

2. 번역이 잘못된 경우가 많습니다. 가족 서류의 용어는 이민국이 요구하는 용어에 맞추어 주어야 합니다.

이유는 단순하고 심플합니다.
1. 증명서를 상세가 아닌 일반으로 받아 제출한 경우
2. 영문 번역시 증명서 title을 "Basic Certificate(Detailed)" "Family Relation Certificate(Detailed)" 이라고 쓰지않고 마음대로 적은 경우
- 나쁜 예: Certificate of Birth (X), Family Register (X), Certificate of Family Relation (X)
3. Travel.State.Gov에서 지정한 영문번역 양식과 너무 동떨어질 경우
- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/SouthKorea.html 에 접속하시어 한국 증명서 영어번역 양식을 다운로드 받아 사용하시기바랍니다.
4. 증명서를 영문본으로 발급받아 제출한 경우,.. 등등
조심하면 별문제 아닙니다.
