I work as a server as at a restaurant.
I got in an argument with a customer due to misunderstanding and she posted a review disguising as another customer on yelp saying false accusations of how she seen me argue with many customers and including me punching another customer and yelling at them, which is not true. She directly mentioned my name on the review. I know its her because shes the only person who knows my name but there is no way I can prove that its her who wrote such thing. What should I do about that? I really want to file a lawsuit against her for putting my job in danger and defaming me. I want to know how much it will cost me to file a lawsuit and to hire a attorney. Im only a student is there any way to afford a attorney?

I understand your frustration but like any lawsuits, libel/slander lawsuits are expensive. Assuming you can show its that customer, we are talking about probably costing you anywhere between $3,000 to $5,000 to start, and your fees and costs could range between $7,000 to $15,000 prior to trial during the course of about 1 year or so. Add anywhere between $10,000 to $20,000 for trial. Of course, 95% of all cases do not go to trial.
