In any criminal case, the court will provide free interpreter if you ask for it. No one can interpret for the defendant except for a certified court interpreter.
You could go with your mother to court and let the court staff know that she needs a Korean interpreter.
Although a public defender will be provided to your mother as low charge, it is probably better to hire a private attorney. If you hire a private attorney, your mother does not need to ever go to court.
As far as what your mother can get for her sentence (punishment) it is difficult to say because every case is different and every jurisdiction different.
