“문제는 Glacier 프로그램으로 2010년 세금보고를 하다보니 오히려 170불정도 세금을 더 내라고 나오는 군요. 2010년 내내 학교 다니고 학교에서 일하며 돈받았으며 세금으로 떼어간 돈이 2600불 정도라 어느정도 환급을 받을거라 예상했거든요. “---->I am NOT familiar with Glacier pro. Software;however, on your 2010 return, as a F1visa holder(or J1 visa status), as you can see, you are NOT subject to FICA taxes for five years, and as a Non-resident alien, you can not claim the AOC or Tuition Tax Credit; GA salary payments are not considered scholarships or fellowships. Income from GA positions and tuition remission is considered earned income and is taxable. Only those students who had bona fide scholarships or fellowships (no work was required as a condition of receiving the award) may deduct expenses paid for tuition, books and fees up to the amount of the scholarship/fellowship.In claiming your itemized deductions on your return, your itemized deductions are limited for nonresident alien. You can claim itemized deductions for state & local taxes, charitable contributions to churches or charities, casualty and theft losses, certain unreimbursed job expenses and tax preparation fees. For those claiming only deduction for state and local taxes, you may use Form 1040NR-EZ. For those claiming other itemized deductions, you must use Form 1040NR.
