You have couple of choices. First, you can pay the ticket and go to traffic school if you qualify (if you haven't gone to traffic school in the past 18 months). Second, contest the ticket and hope that the police officer won't show up to trial. The first court date is not the trial date. It is a date where you request for trial. You can also go online at lasuperiorcourt.org and set a trial date over the internet.
