My job is to process paychecks and issue W-2s so I know how this works. Please note that Employers send one copy of W-2 to IRS so they have records of W-2 so you should provide the W-2 information you received for the 2nd year. The second year of the W-2 probably included the wages earned in the previous year but paid in the following year, January. The W-2 wages go by the date of the paycheck and not the period you worked for. For i.e. you worked in December 2014 but got paid in the following month, January 2015, the W-2 form will be issued for the year of 2015. If this is the case, you have a good reason why you received a W2 in the second year.
