Hello. I am not fluent in Korean, but my husband suggested I reply to your question. He applied for citizenship recently and we did it together without the help of an attorney. You do not need to hire a lawyer for applying for citizenship. You can print an application from the government website. Complete the application, and include passport photos, copy of your Alien Registration Card, driver's license or passport, income tax records (if you have been working), marriage license (if you are applying because you married a U.S. citizen, and also divorce papers if you were married before), and the fee which is currently $685.00. On the website you can find a checklist which tells you exactly what you need to send with your application and fee. I strongly recommend asking someone who knows the Enlgish language well to help you with the questions on the application. Even though I am a native English speaker, I found some of the questions confusing. But, so far so good because my husband already got his fingerprints taken and now we are just waiting for approval.
